A modern secondary philosophy course
Education in the 21st century is heady stuff. There are resources, methods, and technologies that past generations could only dream about. One of the most exciting things for teachers is the level of engagement that youth today have with anything computerized; harnessing this can be as easy as involving computers in content delivery.
As a philosophy teacher writing a course for the first time, I wanted to leave out the dusty textbook and use the dynamic medium of a website for my content resource. Borrowing heavily on the design side from Yahoo's Pure CSS framework, the resulting website is clean, highly organized / navigable, and fully responsive to any device it's displayed on. The project is driven by Mike Cao's Flight PHP framework. The course itself is still being written, but the website is a great beginning for a separate project that I hope develops into a new course-documentation CMS.
